A guide to shift types - tags, descriptions and who is eligible to work them
- Shift types are set up by your Account owner, they ensure that employees receive the right shifts through the use of tags
- An example of a shift type is "Nurse", the tag for a "Nurse" shift type could also be "Nurse" and all nurses would also have the "Nurse" tag so that they receive "Nurse" shifts.
- Shift types can also be used to mark a difference between two shifts for employees eg: "Nurse day" and "Nurse night" or "Nurse sleep"
- We can assign multiple tags to a shift type eg: "Nurse - covid training" could be tagged as "Nurse" and "Covid training" - this would mean only employees with both tags would receive these shifts
- We default the description for shift types but you can amend these when creating a shift
